The history of learning

As we age, we gather knowledge, experience, expertise, know-how. At SenGuide, we want to help people to pass on their knowledge, their passion, through our know-how of teaching and learning, particularly online teaching and learning.

Technology has always been a tool to teaching and learning, from drawings in caves, the orator’s voice and discourse skill in ancient Greece, the careful copying of texts in monasteries, the printing press which brought those words to the many, radio lessons for children in the Australian outback, television courses – but also documentaries, and now the presence of our laptops and computers in our everyday life.

Online learning now comes in many shapes, from formal learning leading to obtention of degrees, or free courses designed by universities, to short video courses given by specialists in their field who are not educators, and to user-created short instructional videos on YouTube.
